Thank you to everyone for your support for my debut on C&C. There was a dodgy moment or two at the beginning where I had total brain failure, but I got past it and got going. A big thanks to Dave and Barbara, thank the lord they were there, Dave being his very professional self and doing a lot of the work for me and Barbara for being behind the cameras gesticulating at me and giving moral support.
Today is Friday so it Polka Doodles challenge time. This week the challenge is to make a card for a big number. I used the tree and birdhouse image, backing papers, ticket, numbers and a flower from the Candy Doodles Collectors edition CD, and the girl and the toadstool are from Sugarplum Daisy CD. The fence, birdhouse, little bird, and swirl are Marianne Design Dies cut from a very pretty Marianne Designs backing paper. Some inking with distress inks and faux stitching finishes off the card just nicely.
Below are my creative expressions domo samples, I'm a bit behind with them so there's rather a lot of them I'm afraid. They use a combination of studio 490 Art Part and stamps, Spellbinder dies, embossing folders, metal, Cosmic Shimmer misters, drawing inks and pearl PVA. There's even a bit of spackle used to. Of course distress stains, inkpads and Adirondack inkpads used too,

Wow, Dee! Your samples are stunningly beautiful! The folder in particular blows me away. I didn't see the beginning of the show on C & C, but started watching from about 15 minutes in, and thought you were totally brilliant. I was very impressed
Hi Dee, beautiful cards and so varied in style too. It did not take you long to look like a seasoned pro on your debut. Well done. Now I have to say thank you for your inspiration for my first attempt at a Canal Barge set card. Your card showed me the way to go. If you want to look, you can see it on my blog for yesterday. I have loads more ideas now as a result. thank you again, and I hope you have had a good Easter. xx Maggie
